Today is the club festive and winter party with pot luck feast, and for 2025 the Geeky Gift Swap returns! (details below). Bring games and food, crafts and jokes and have a good time with good friends! Fancy dress and festive jumpers welcome! And this is open to everyone as a winter and festive celebration (not just Christmas).
Geeky Gift Swap: Our version of a secret santa, super simple. Bring a wrapped gift to receive your token then later swap token for a gift! To keep it nice, fair and enjoyable gifts should be between £5 and £10 and genuinely desirable not just making space on your shelf. Charity shops finds are ok if good quality. If in doubt ask the captain and she’ll keep it secret! For our artists and crafters. For our artists and crafters use the value you usually sell things for 🙂 And the eco reminder – make is something not likely to be trashed and for everyone discord and fb are great for sharing tips! but not spoilers!
Pot luck Feast: it’s time to get those hobbit recipe books out! It’s a pot luck festive meal. Lets fill the food table! Bring real food and/or snacks and drinks. The more real food (not just snacks) the better. Here’s some ideas just remember no alcohol and please list ALL ingredients/ keep packaging and individual portions make things so much easier and nicer!
- Sandwiches
- Salads (pasta, potato, leaf)
- Mini bites and Pastries etc (sausage rolls, pasties, pinwheels, samosas, Onion Bhajis, mini quiches, etc)
- Skewers
- Order in take out to share
- Snacks (crisp, breadsticks, dips, popcorn, chocolates, jellies, sweets, cakes, fruit, cheese)
- Drinks: Crazy teas/coffees, pop (cans), flavoured water
- and more…. there’s loads of ideas!
If you’re definitely bringing a certain thing let us know so we can coordinate. We’ve access to microwave and kettle

- Theme/activity: Winter and Christmas Party with a Pot Luck feast, Music, Snacks, Crafts and Games
