The Great British Spring clean Litter pick

With the help of the South Leicestershire Litter Wombles we’ll be taking part in The Great British Spring Clean. Litter picking is a great activity to make a difference to the wildlife and planet, great exercise and a chance to catch up. So join in and lets show the world we care!

Starting location: Outside the Queen Elizabeth Sports centre 50 Duns Ln, Leicester LE3 5LX 2pm (what 3 words: ///asks.taker.frogs) and we’ll pick the surrounding area or walk the canal towards Abbey Park or split into teams and do both depending on the day. This event is open to all. Any one interested in doing their bit, friends, family, colleagues… if you can’t make ours there’s loads around the country and city. Check out the Womble group for more.

Equipment: Some bags and pickers will be supplied, but if you have your own kit that’s more than welcome too. Wear weather appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes and gloves if you have them.

Important bits:

• Event will be open to non members too
• All children MUST be accompanied by adults and if the the canal is chosen you will be especially responsible for your childs safety. We take no responsibility for juniors.
• Some equipment will be provided but if you have your own litter picker/bags/gloves/hi-viz please bring them along
• Bring your own hand sanitizer
• It’s after lunch so remember to fuel up
• Earn another event towards your 2023 Golden Club Badge.

Covid changes:

• We will be doing everything in our power to keep people safe with hand sanitizer and fresh air and the reminder to only attend if well.
• Please only attend if you feel well/usual
• We will be taking contact details for covid secureness

More Important details:

• Usually over 16’s only (16 and 17 year olds to bring an adult) but as we are in a public space accompanied children are welcome but keep in mind we may be near water.
